"Oregon Fever" interest widening

More book sellers are reporting interest in the new anthology of Northwest writrers. Another distributor contacted the publisher for information regarding arrival dates for books. The last report from our broker indicated the first special order shipment due to arrive Dec. 1 to be followed by balance of shipment in a few days later.
Also contacted one of the leading press critics who expressed interest in the book and agreed to respect publication date which has been set for January ,2005.

bookstores in Oregon alerted

Additional announcements of the forthcoming book OREGON FEVER, an anthology of Northwest writings between 1965 to 1982 was mailed late last week to more than 60 book stores in the state. Latest word from the printer broker is that the books will be arriving at the publisher's holding area early next week by Dec. 1 or earlier. The first shipmernt is earmarked for the Oregon History Society to be followed by orders from Partners West and Oregon State University.

The cover of Oregon Fever contains a double page photograph of Mt Hood spreading over the front and back covers.The photo was taken by Joe Gault Bianco of Des Moines, WA.The photographer is a blood relative of an Oregon pioneer family (Gault) that settled in southern Oregon in the Gold Hill area of Jackson County. Alsoon the cover are the names of leading writers in the books including Barry Lopez, Ivan Doig and Larry Colton.

Oregon fever theme

The reasons for Oregon Fever are many but uppermost in its publication is the need to emphasize the importance of a free press , one that is not held hostage by mass hysteria , public opinion and the uninformed . Oregon Fever , the book, explains and demonstrates what can be accomplished by the media if it pursues its objectives in an unrestricted environment.

The new book published by Avellino Press should be printed and ready for distribution the last week of this month of November. Orders are already coming in as a result of circulated flyers sent though the U.S. mail. The flyers went to bookstores in Oregon and nearby southern Washington state.

update on Oregon Fever printing

Proofs for the upcoming book on the anthology of Northwest writings from the period from 1965 to 1982 have been checked and approved. Proof material will be delivered via air to printing house by deadline Nov. 11 '04. Books should by ready for late November distribution to early outlets.

Pre-publicity has resulted in orders from several book retailers and from a distributing company. So far more than 100 books have been ordered,

A new book will be published in a few weeks covering the period 1965 to 1982 recording the writings of prominent Pacific Northwest authors .
